NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio – Royal Park Fine Wine is holding a tasting of different Spanish wines.
The walk-around tasting is 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, and will include cheeses.
Wines to be poured:
• Kila Cava, Catalonia (cava is affordable, quality sparkling wine; the region is in the northeast corner of the country).
• La Cana Albarino, Rias Baixas (the often acidic white-wine grape is from Spain’s northwest corner).
• Bodegas Muga Rosé, Rioja (the region is in the north).
• Honoro Vera Rouge, Rioja
• Can Blau Montsant (Montsant is in the northeast corner of the country).
• Juan Gil blue label red blend, Jumilla (Jumilla is in the southeast corner of Spain).
Spanish wines tend to be affordable and offer a range of varietals. Like many European countries, the wine labels focus on region unlike the United States, where varietal is emphasized. Here’s a map of Spanish wine regions.
Cost is $25. For reservations call 440-582-8766.
Royal Park is at 12770 Royalton Road, North Royalton.
