Vizcaya is the newest culinary sensation in South Tampa. The Spanish restaurant operates out of an old auto shop at 401 South Howard Avenue. The delectable menu includes fresh dates stuffed with Manchego cheese and Serrano Ham, perfectly cooked empanadas, sensational sangria and so much more.
This restaurant has hopped around the city of Tampa over the years, it’s newest location puts it in the heart of Tampa’s booming culinary scene. Paella, Zarzuela de Mariscos, and Black Angus Tenderloin with Piquillo Peppers feature on the menu for those looking to broaden their culinary horizons.
A beautiful outdoor patio lit with an array of Edison bulbs, and a stunning hand painted mural make this a spot that’s hard to miss in SoHo. Felix Piedra has owned Vizcaya for more than 15 years. They’ve bounced around the city, beginning in Carrollwood, and proceeding on to South Tampa, before landing on this location.
The owner spent more than a year renovating the building. The garage/car repair shot was constructed back in the 1950s. While the exterior still showcases that history, Vizcaya has puts it own signature touch on in the inside. An ivy wall with a bull at the forefront, gorgeous black and white paintings, and chic wood tables create an atmosphere all its own.
When you visit, be sure to indulge in the seafood paella. That dish is a hallmark of the Vizcaya menu.
Follow the restaurant on Instagram and Facebook for updates on menu items and operation hours.
